The Prime Minister of St. Kitts and Nevis visited Bermuda for our "Heritage Day Celebration" and brought along their "Steel Pan Orchestra". They entertained the congregation before the service and at the brunch immediately following.

Sunday's Festival del Santo Cristo Procession, Bermuda



A religious festival in the Azores and the Azorean diaspora around the world held on the fifth Sunday after Easter. It began at the end of the 17th century with the fame of the miracles obtained through the intercessors of the Senhor Santo Cristo (literally Lord Holy Christ). The procession dates from that period.

In many place the streets are strewn with flowers and colorful bedspreads are hung from the buildings as decoration. The solemn rhythm of the procession is accompanied by bands as pilgrims follow the parade to seek help for the sick and needy, and to fulfill their vows at Church.

Stephen Wiltshire to visit Bermuda May 17-23, 2010



In May 2005 Stephen produced his longest ever panoramic memory drawing of Tokyo on a 10-metre long canvas within seven days following a short helicopter ride over the city.

The Bermuda National Gallery and Bermuda Autism Support & Education will be hosting an evening with Stephen Wiltshire at the BNG. There will be a cocktail reception, dinner and auction, accompanied by live music. This is a unique chance to bid on Stephen's original artwork of Bermuda while supporting two worthy charities.

Bermuda at the Byte CII World Championship in Cannes (April 2010)


The Byte is a one man sailing dinghy. The latest design known as the "CII", has a fully battened sail and carbon-fibre mast. Although the Byte class operates on several continents, and there are fleets around the world, Byte regatta are usually found only in Canada, Singapore, Bermuda, Great Britain and Switzerland.

Gregory Slayton given Distinguished Foreign Service Award



Gregory Slayton, the former U.S. Consul General to Bermuda was today given the Distinguished Foreign Service Award by the Congressional Black Caucus. On hand for the award presentation was Congresswoman Diane Watson, Senator John McCain, Senator Susan Collins, and Congressman Dan Lundgren.

St. George, Bermuda: a World Heritage site


The Town of St George, founded in 1612, is an outstanding example of the earliest English urban settlement in the New World. Its associated fortifications graphically illustrate the development of English military engineering from the 17th to the 20th century, being adapted to take account of the development of artillery over this period.
